IDD Crisis Specialist Assistant

High school diploma or equivalent.  Must have at least two years' experience with IDD and experience working with IDD in a group, individual or classroom setting.  Must have experience with therapeutic support including, but not limited to behavioral support and varying habilitative levels of intervention to holistically address the stressors that result in challenging behaviors for individuals with IDD in crisis situations. 

 The job responsibilities include providing in-home respite services for IDD consumer in crisis on a short-term (up to 72 hour) basis, providing out of home respite for up to 14 days for IDD consumers in the out of home crisis respite facility, and scheduling other staff to go out to serve in home respite IDD consumers, when needed. This position will also provide support to the Crisis Intervention Specialist, insuring that the individual treatment needs for each individual are being addressed daily with accurate documentation. This position will assist with training in and out-of-home respite providers.
