The Andrews Center Forensic Programs is seeking a dedicated, trauma-informed Forensic Mental Health Clinician to support justice-involved individuals as they reintegrate into the community. This role involves clinical assessment, counseling, interagency collaboration, and ongoing support for individuals with mental illness, intellectual disabilities, and co-occurring substance use disorders who have current or recent criminal charges.
Conduct screenings for justice-involved individuals to provide recommendations for appropriate mental health services.
Perform intake assessments to enroll individuals into forensic programs and develop individualized, client-centered reintegration plans using a trauma-informed approach.
Provide counseling services to enrolled individuals - primarily utilizing Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) modalities.
Maintain accurate program data, documentation, and performance statistics.
Serve as a primary contact for Andrews Center Forensic Programs with courts and criminal justice agencies.
Attend monthly meetings with the county forensic team and offer clinical care recommendations.
Maintain productivity while working both independently and collaboratively with forensic program staff.
Communicate effectively with courts, jail staff, attorneys, and Andrews Center personnel while adhering to all relevant confidentiality laws.
Provide services tailored to individuals with mental illness, intellectual disabilities, and/or co-occurring substance use disorders who are justice-involved.
Complete additional tasks and responsibilities as assigned by the supervisor.
Master's degree in a Social Science or Human Services field from an accredited college/university.
Hold a current license in the state of Texas as one of the following: Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), or Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT).
May consider provisionally licensed applicants (LPC-A, LMFT-A, or LMSW) at a lower salary, if license-eligible and working toward full licensure.
Previous mental health work experience with adult consumers with serious mental illness.
Familiarity/experience with the criminal justice system, forensic populations, or forensic mental health settings.
Training or experience in trauma-informed care and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT).
Experience working with individuals with co-occurring substance use disorders.
