Requires a Texas license as an LVN by the Board of Nurse Examiners. Minimum of two (2) years experience in psychiatric or working with intellectual developmental disabilities nursing preferred.
Responsible for the provision of RN Consultation, Medical Input including the performance of health care procedures and the monitoring of consumers health conditions for assigned HCS service recipients. Will adhere to HCS consumer principles in providing nursing services. Serves as a Liaison with clients, families, physicians and other health related professionals. Will perform staff development as assigned. Duties include implementation of medically orientated programs, monitoring of client physical conditions, implementing self medication programs, and being able to assist staff in coping with medical emergencies. Responsible for interagency coordination to improve delivery of Medicaid services. This position requires the employee to transport consumers in their personal vehicles, drive Andrews Center vehicles, or drive representing the Center and therefore must have current Texas driver's license and meet insurability criteria.
