Must have bachelors degree in human service field. 6 months of experience in the mental health field preferred.
The LOSS Team Coordinator provides quality care to individuals that have recently experienced a suicide death, and coordinates volunteers to respond to on-scene and delayed calls. Will work under the supervision of the Suicide Prevention Coordinator and oversees calls, creates and coordinates schedules, provides referrals and resources, and keeps data-related documents and statistical information for the Healing East Texas After a Recent Tragedy of Suicide (HEARTS) LOSS Team. Coordinator will develop relationships with people served by the LOSS Team, law enforcement agencies, local justice of the peace offices, volunteers, and other pertinent entities. They will be responsible for coordinating the agency's LOSS Team efforts to include the provision of suicide prevention and postvention training in the communities, reach out to individuals following suicide attempts or families who have experienced suicide loss, and facilitate LOSS Team training, while recruiting and maintaining LOSS Team volunteers. This position is contingent on available funding from fundraising and grants.
