IDD Crisis Provider

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Receives programming and employment supervision from the Crisis Intervention Specialist. The primary job responsibility is to provide in-home respite services for IDD consumers in crisis on a short-term (up to 72-hour) basis. Will provide therapeutic support including, but not limited to behavioral support and varying habilitative levels of intervention to holistically address the stressors that result in challenging behaviors for individuals with IDD in crisis situations. Must not provide service coordination. Will implement PMAB and physical prompts. Services will be presented during intense crisis situations, requiring high levels of energy and enthusiasm maintained throughout the service delivery time, as determined by the Crisis Intervention Specialist. Works closely with the Crisis Intervention Specialist, ensuring that the individual treatment needs for each individual are being addressed daily with accurate documentation. Provides safety care training to parents. Provides education and training on implementing the respite plan to redirect before future behaviors. Crisis respite aide may be asked to work as a PASRR independent living skills aide, group home residential trainer and/or as PAS/Hab Aide if there is not enough work to do in crisis respite.

QUALIFICATIONS: High school diploma or equivalent required.  College level courses in behavioral science are preferred. At least two years' experience working with individuals with IDD or similar disorders.
