OCR Case Manager

Bachelors or Masters degree from an accredited college or university with a major in social, behavioral or human services.  Experience in mental health services and criminal justice preferred.  Must have good written and verbal communication skills and be computer literate. 

The individual will provide case management, psychosocial rehab/skills training, competency restoration (legal skills training), and court advocacy for clients deemed incompetent to stand trial (IST). Will be required to visit individuals in jail and home settings. Ability to work with persons with disabilities, to assess consumer needs, to establish recovery plans, to make productive referrals, to advocate for consumer, and to work independently and effectively.  Must be able to cope with frustration, to work non-judgmentally with consumers, and to respond to changing needs of incompetent consumers.  Knowledge of and ability to work effectively with community resources and within criminal justice system. This position may require the employee to drive representing the Center and therefore must have current Texas driver's license and meet insurability criteria. Ability to communicate effectively and prepare written assessments and progress notes.  Must type and have basic computer skills.
